About the Artist. Daniel Salazar’s career as a glass artist began in the early 1970’s when he went to work as a grinder at Nouveau Glass. The small studio soon grew and, in 1973, was rechristened Lundberg Studios. Salazar worked closely with studio founders, James and Steven Lundberg, and was instrumental in helping them create their unique California-style paperweight lamp-working process. In 1978, he began creating the glass paperweights for which he is now famous. Many of his distinctive designs including those depicting floral and underwater scenes can be attributed to his love of nature and botany. Daniel Salazar has art glass works on exhibit at a number of museums including the Smithsonian Institute, the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, and the De Young Museum in San Francisco.
