Whimsical and grotesque decoration, this is a rare ginger jar by English potter and artist, Andrew Hull, issued in 2001. It is reminiscent of the Martin Brothers (circa 1877-1923), who were instrumental in establishing studio and art pottery in England.
Meet Albert, a ‘grotesque’ figure of a pelican with green and tan coloration and excellent carved details on the feathers and legs. Albert was created by English potter and artist, Andrew Hull.
